Compatible Electronics is NVLAP-accredited for ETSI EN 300 440 V2.1.1 (2017) and EN 300 440-1/-2 V1.6.1 (2010) — the harmonised standard for short range devices in the 1 GHz to 40 GHz frequency range at Lake Forest and Brea.
ETSI EN 300 440 is the harmonised standard covering short range devices (SRD) operating in the 1 GHz to 40 GHz frequency range. It is published under the EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU and specifies the essential requirements of Article 3.2 — effective use of the radio spectrum and avoidance of harmful interference. EN 300 440 covers a wide range of low-power radio applications including automotive radar, level gauges, data links, and unlicensed wireless systems above 1 GHz that are not covered by device-specific standards.
For devices below 1 GHz see ETSI EN 300 220. For Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands see EN 300 328 and the ETSI RED Testing overview. For the full RED EMC compliance (EN 301 489), see our ETSI EN 301 489 Testing page.
🔎 V2.1.1 (2017) vs legacy V1.6.1 (2010): EN 300 440 V2.1.1 (2017) is the current version covering the essential requirements under RED Directive 2014/53/EU. The legacy V1.6.1 (2010) Parts 1 and 2 were published under the R&TTE Directive and remain on the CE NVLAP scope for products tested under that Directive. New submissions should use V2.1.1. Our EMC Design Consulting team can confirm the correct version for your submission.
